February 9, 2023 – Harmony Farm Sanctuary Benefit Paint Night: Thursday, February 9th 6:30pm, Stoney Brook Vineyards, Troutville, VA – Tickets are $40/$36 for BRES members – includes painting & light meal – ALL profits to go to Harmony Farm Sanctuary in Botetourt. Everyone welcome, please RSVP by February 6th.

March 2, 2023- March Social: Thursday March 2nd, 6:30-8pm Lentini’s, Daleville… come say hi to Kate Lawrence, learn about small farm care – mud issues, when to spray for weeds, when to fertilize, what not to plant around our homes. Everyone is welcome, please try to RSVP by March 1st, so we can book enough seats.
April 1, 2023 – 1st Annual Tack Sale: 9:30am – 1:30pm VFW Daleville. Tables are sold out. 20+ vendors inside and out.
April 1, 2023 – April Social: Saturday, April 1st 1:30-3pm VFW Post 1841 Daleville… Pot luck lunch. We have plates, napkins, cutlery, & beverages. Please bring something to share.
April 22nd & 23rd – Community Service: Saturday and Sunday April 22 & 23, Green Hill Park Eq. Center. We will host the concession stand for the SWVADA & BREA show. Volunteers are needed. Please email or call us at 540-254-0212 if you’d like to help either day.
22nd – clean the kitchen … 1pm – 3pm
23rd – set up, serve hot dogs, clean up… 10am – 2pm

July 6, 2023 – July Social: Thursday 7/6, 6:30pm Rodeo Chico, Daleville.
Hope’s Legacy Equine Rescue took in 36 horses from a horrible case this past week. They are not far from us in Afton, VA. They need help. We will pass the donation jar. While BRES don’t have a big account, we are less than a year old, we can help some…so we’ll match the first $50 dollars that get donated to help them. They are anticipating over $12k in vet bills. If we all give a little, we can help BIG!
Aug. 5, 2023 – August Social /Education Event: Saturday 8/5 at 1:30pm. Vfw Post 1841 Daleville, Va
Wellfarm Veterinary Consultants will be sharing a short presentation about deworming equine. BRES members are also eligible for discounted fecal tests, up to 2 per member. $10 per test ($2.50 is going to buy de-wormers for a local equine charity). Meeting will be outside under the pavilion. Dress accordingly. We will have a few fans and access to restrooms. Please RSVP by 8/2 for an accurate headcount. We plan to offer cold sandwiches and beverages…please bring a fun summer dish or crunchy snack to share.
Sept. 7, 2023 Thursday 6:30pm September Social
Come visit with the area Kent/Blue Seal/Sentinel Rep. She’ll be taking hay samples and will be available for questions about feeds and other products. Location TBD.

Great opportunity to meet equine nutrionist Melyni Worth, PhD, PAS and learn about Virginia based and manufactured Foxden Equine, Inc. products. Q&A session. Light meal will be provided. $40 ticket for members, $45 for non members includes wreath materials and light meal. Profits will be donated to regional charities to help stock local pet pantries and supply Meals of Wheels locally with pet food.
